Driving for Better Business

Driving for Better Business is a free programme from National Highways to help employers reduce work-related road risk, control the associated costs and improve compliance with current legislation and guidance.

Our mission is to improve safety and reduce risk for all those who drive or ride for work, by promoting good management practice and demonstrating the significant business benefits.

Roughly one in three road crashes involves at least one person who was driving for work at the time and government statistics reveal these crashes lead to over 30,000 injury casualties each year, including almost 500 fatalities.

Damage repairs, fleet insurance, maintenance and fuel use are often just treated as the cost of doing business but they aren’t. They’re directly related to the management of drivers.

Driving for Better Business has lots of free online tools and resources to help you understand, identify and manage your driving for work risks.
